5 Reasons Why I Love China
Do you love China? If so, head over to the ‘Why Do You Love China?‘ group writing project and write a post about why you love (or at least like) China soon.
5 Reasons Why I Love China
- Absolutely Breathtaking Destinations – China boasts some of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world. Don’t think so? Check out the video above.
- Chance to Learn Many New Things – Once you get out of the big coastal cities, you discover that China is a very diverse country. In addition to the 55 officially recognized ‘dialects’ (read: different languages), there are many cultures & traditions that remain to be discovered for the outside traveler. For the true scholar of history, languages, or culture, China presents dozens of lifetimes worth of learning opportunities… even if much of what was is no longer.
- Streetsmart People in the Cities – A smart Chinese person is probably harder to cheat or con than anyone in the world. And thanks to living in China, I know no one will ever be able to con me.
- Low Cost of Traveling – What could be better than not having to spend much money (as long as you don’t stay in expensive hotels and eat only the best of food) to see the sights of China, learn from China, and meet the people of China? Not everyone can afford long trips in Europe – but many can in China. Life-changing, perspective-shattering (perspective on your life, values, and own country as much as on your former perceptions of China), adventure-filled trips.
- My Girlfriend (+ most of her family) & Friends – Okay, this one is a little more personal – but it’s the people that make any place. And it’s the people I’ve fallen in love with, befriended, and come to know well that have made my time in China worthwhile.
So why do YOU love China?

I’m realizing now, I’ve read this
haha. Regardless, good read the second time as well. And, like yourself, one of my biggest reasons for loving China is the most important person in my life is Chinese – it’s hard for that to not warm you to a place, even if some other bits rub ya raw.

I love China video.
After watching that Welcome to China video I felt so angry. I have lived in China since 1997 and have traveled extensively while here. I never see all those happy Chinese people. A more realistic video would show crippled people hobbling along the road, homeless people sleeping outside in Harbin in the winter cold, children beggars, and dead bodies lying in the streets after being run down by crazy drivers. Those are the images I see in China everyday.
Born and raised in China for 12 years, I came to USA, and I definitly have a lot of reasons to love china n_n
I love its rich culture, creative ideas, and like you mentioned, beautiful places (since it does have many geographic advantages and a rich history). China blood will forever be with me, I can not deny, for which have brought me proudness and honor.
Though it is true there are many unfair things in China can be observed, such as poverty, unequal oppertunities. However, China is still a developing country, and I believe in its potential. Most importantly, like a lot of Chinese who are away from our country, I will always stand by its side, and help China to become a better place.
To be honest, as much as I didn’t liked some things when I was in China, I did felt happier when I was living there. =)
I’m so happy to hear that you love China, too! Oh, only a few billion people share that opinion with you =D
Being Indian, I observed I get along very well with Chinese people even though our respective countries have little in common – one of my girlfriends at university was Chinese. China has so many admirable characteristics which would make it the world’s most respected superpower in coming few decades; I admire Chinese zeal for hard work, aesthetics and love for their own language. Unlike India, which is like a European Union with each state having its own language different from the other- China is able to unite the whole country under one language: Chinese. China is also making rapid strides in technology innovation; the next Bill Gates or Stephen Hawking is likely to come from China.
This is the coming-of-age for Sino- and other Asian nation; Western cultures will only have declining importance in coming few decades. In 30 years from now, all international opinions/mass media/literature/creativity will be centred around China. Noone can impede their progress.
I have deep respect for all East Asian cultures: Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai.
Will happy to hear people in USA says love china. The one reason i like china because i was in china 15 years, and i would want to come back one day with some one who i love. I love they language. china is one have more than 50 kind of languages. Also, i like they culture, food and many things. Any yes, some people mind will say chinese can not learn the true about they own country, or some thing bad. But i want to tell your chinese are learn the true from both contry speech.
I love China because it was an eye opening experience, I have traveled Europe, but nothing compares to 3000 years of a different culture, food, everything. I didn’t need to go, but it was the smartest trip I ever took!
Maybe reason No. 5 is not so personal after all. I don’t have a Chinese “significant other” (so far), but I have GREAT Chinese friends, that I didn’t and wouldn’t make in my own country in a million years.
Actually that’s my reason number 2. Number 1 for me goes for the fact that you are in a country with more than 3000 years of history and that you can learn so much every day.
I love China ,too.
For many reasons:
china has many delicious food and they are very cheap.
chinese people are always very friendly.
china has the best goverment in the world,i ofen see chairmen Hu on TV,he is the president of china ,and he is very kind.
china has many beautiful sightings.
Also, china is adeveloping country,it has few poor people, but i think china will be better in the future.
im an indian love china for many aspects,i am living here for more than 4 yrs.
china is big for there hard work and achievments.
most of the people of defferent category we can see here, one who is poor also can live and rich can live, with there cost of living.
but i have to say this also lots of very bad people also i met here,if see a foreigner who dont know language ther try top loot u that much they can.
It’s just great out here in Beijing. The food’s just amazing, they’ve got every type of cuisine plus stuff like vastly improved Pizza Hut products due to Chinese flavouring.
Not many countries get, for example, special Japanese products as cheap as the Chinese, and very few countries get them at all. Plus China can design and produce very high quality products.
Traditional Chinese Medicine is at moment curing me from always very easily feeling cold in my feet and palms. TCM can undoubtedly do some pretty amazing things that Western medicine just can’t
I’ve got respect for the Chinese because of their high values. These people don’t live for the instant gratification.
Greetings From Finland’s last blog post..A Moment Without Cracking Jokes
4 Liu Jiaju :
I don’t konw whether you are a chinese as you have a chinese name.I think you are not.
But I it is too exageerated what you discribed about china.
Can you see those everyday?
I leave in Shandong provnice,china.
Tracffic accident in china is a real problem. And there are children beggers. But I can’t see them each day!
Homeless people, beggers, disabledman…You can find them in every country if you tried to.That is not fair
I’m now a canadian.but I’m always Chinese.undoubtly,I love China.not only for my family there (connection with blood) but also its culture ,history, language, nature, beauty, economy and government… are attracted to me!
Chinese people are hard working because of the situation of China nowadays.and they are able to be accustomed to the most tough environment.
as a Chinse, what I respect most is the language.you can’t imagine how difficulty and beautiful it is with the chinese characters!and chinses traditional poems are so great and wonderful that even a native chinese can understand the meanings.
on the other side,China is famous for its 5000-year long history.when we are at school, the chinses and history are the most difficulty courses I’ve ever learnt!
It’s true that there’re many accidents in China.BUT all countries have their own weakness so as China!and the poverty is also true in China.children beggers sometimes on the street.
poverty,HOWEVER,is common in developing countries.Don’t you forget the ugliest war happening in China?Since Qing dynasty the oppression had always been given to chinese untill 1949.so the poverty is not China’s fault just the war’s fault! in China, there’re a lot of children haveing no access to go to school for the poverty .but our government has invested lots of money to the education and there’re many charities giving their hands to children and the poor. after May 12 2008 ,the big earthquake happened,it seems all of our chinese stood side by side with the connection by the blood from the dragon!Until now I can clearly remember the night when all of our students and teathers in my high school went to the playground with the candles in our hands and prayed for the death for about 1hours! and most of us donated our pocket money at that night.
I still really thank to most of you who love China. If you don’t like China I’LL still respect your choice because it’s true that there’re a lot of things bad that chinese need to change.
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!
AND what I want to say is the nature in the
video is real!!! the sightseeings are of the yunnan province, beijing(hebei province),shandong province, shanghai… I really love traditional towns in China!!
Welcome to China!!It is reaaaaaaly worthwhile having a cheap and wonderful trip there!
Food!!
Cheap stuff, good food, friendly people (at least those around my area), everything’s new compared to Europe (BUT dirtier…)

I am from Eastern Indian state Bihar the land of Buddha. I love China because Chinese people love Buddha.
I think China is the best country of the world. Tough law and order is good to control huge population. If you don’t adopt tough law then your country can become lawless and poor like Biharand Assam.
Highly educated people in western countries talk Dalai lama, Freedom of Tibet, Human rights, Global warming, thinning of Ozone layer, Pollution, deforestation but these white people never trust people of poor countries.
O you know White people are searching for Aliens on other p
These white people think poor people are thief liar, dishonest, illegal immigrant, cunning etc. If an Asian want to talk with a white people in Connaught Place in New Delhi that white people will never talk with you. I mean white people are genetically raciest. Even almighty God the father of Jesus can’t change these raciest white people.
Muslim people and Muslim countries too not good. Both race are dangerous for this world

China is an inexpensive place to travel. Most people come to China to look for a wife or get a English teaching job. I know China is the easy place in the world to get married..(Guys know what im talking about.) So respect the people and the country for giving you a new hope in life..
Cheers.
I thought I would share what I consider to be the great aspects of living in Beijing. I will use many juxtapositions to my life in the United States, so if you are not American, you may not fully comprehend my comparisons.
First of all, people mind their own business here. I love that part of Chinese society. People outside the family don’t get involved in family disputes. If a wife and husband are having a fight and and argument, no one goes to jail. In America the police are required to take one of you to jail, and a domestic abuse charge is given to one of you and follows you around for the rest of your life. I would like to point out this has never happened to me. But, it is a family matter in my eyes and I think the punishment does not fit the crime, in most instances. I read constantly of how China is a police state. That may be the case, in a political sense. But, if you are not a political activist, the police rarely bother you unless you are a real criminal. You never have to worry about a policeman coming up to you and giving you a citation for jaywalking, or any one of a thousand possible violations unrelated to public safety that American police give out to US Citizens for the sole purpose of venting their frustrations and generating revenue for your city. The US has legislated common sense out of our society.
The food is second on my list. The food in China is incredible. It is nothing like the fare that is passed off as Chinese food in America. In the winter time my favorite food is Hot Pot. This food is served uncooked to your table and you have a hot plate and a large pot of flavored broth. You put the uncooked meat, fresh vegetables, noodles, fish and other delicacies in the pot and boil until done. You are given a bowl of sesame sauce to dip the food in if you wish. Two words to describe this experience: delicious and healthy.
In the summer time my favorite dining experience is barbeque. This is nothing like it’s American cousin. Skewers of beef, lamb, chicken and pork are seasoned and grilled over coal in open air markets and side streets. There are a variety of fresh vegetables and seafood available, also. You and your friends will sit on small stools and a matching table, drinking the local beer or tea, and enjoy the camaraderie well into the evening. Of course, those are just my two favorites. There are thousands upon thousands of small restaurants serving delicious dishes, and no two restaurants have the same menu.
The work is next on my list what I love about China. I work as a professor at a great university.
I work 3 half days, 9 hours of teaching, and I receive a great salary by Chinese standards with 2 months paid vacation and 2 months salary as a bonus every year. There is also lots of work available to supplement my income. Whereas in America jobs are very scarce I get 3-5 job offers a week. I have chosen a Swedish company to work for in my ample spare time, drug testing athletes across east Asia for illegal drug use, and plan to find a second teaching job in September. All positions pay more for 1 hours work than 90% of all Chinese receive for a days work. I even get work on Chinese movies. For a guy that has always loved working, I am in paradise.

i first fell in love with China when i was 14. How i feel about it is so hard to explain..but there is not any thing about China that i do not love, and even though i have not been there..it is all i think about. I have found it really interesting how some people sort of have this connection to China that is just unexplainable. It is China itself that i am in love with.
Well, i guess there is just one thing i really want to say,
China is beautiful and amazing..i know maybe everything may not be perfect, but that is what makes China China, and without those imperfect things China would no longer be who it is.

Douglas Larsen is most likely another brainwashed American who’s been conditioned to hate China because his country is deservedly going into the s*itter
I love China because Chinese people love me.
I love China because Chinese is such a beautiful language.
I love China because the food is various in taste appearance.
I love China because they don’t shoot people randomly on the streets for drug money (not as much as in my home country anyways).
I love China because the culture is astounding and probably the deepest in the world.
There are reasons I hate China too, but this is a website where we are supposed to write reasons why we love China.
I love China because you can walk down the streets of any neighbourhood of any city at any time and not feel unsafe or threatened.
