Hi Doc - It was pretty decent, I enjoyed it the first time around.

Cheers from the opposite side of the world

I only caught it on the CNN and thought it looked pretty wild.

Had to remind my Mom "Happy Chinese New Years" for the first time (She's Korean)

Cheers from Uruguay

Maybe you're right and you're very right that this year's was great in comparison to past years. Anyway, I didn't invent the term - here is excerpted from the link above (and lets us know what many young Chinese people think about most year's performances.)

Pretty much every Chinese person I talk to agrees that it gets worse every year, ever reaching new depths of raw bore-power. Yet most Chinese households tune in faithfully every year.

But hopefully this year's marks the beginning of a new era of shows that are enjoyable to watch. It was obvious they pulled out many of the more boring hosts and pulled in many more interesting stars. But that didn't make any of the other smaller 'spectaculars' we sat through any more interesting.

Don't you think that it is more than a little elitist to label something that many Chinese seem to enjoy as a Craptacular?

I tuned in a little all the way from America and found the one that I saw to be interesting at least.

I can see sensitivity training in your future, Dude!
