Annoying Construction in China

Annoying ConstructionIf you have lived in China, you’ve lived through construction, and probably plenty of it. What’s the most annoying construction situation you’ve been through in China?

When does the construction end?

They’ve been ‘painting’ the outside of the building we subsist in for two months now. Two months. Somehow, this painting involves plenty of drilling, pounding, and the like.

Over the last several months, people have stood directly across from me as I work at home (with only a thin curtain providing some degree of privacy), hugged against the bathroom window as I’ve showered and ‘done my business’, and walked and worked on our porch right next to our bedroom… at least a couple of times.

I don’t mind the guys working their asses off being so close – what I mind are the obvious inefficiencies in a project that should be done in a couple of weeks tops. Who is in who’s pockets, why, and…

When will it all end?
