China Telecom belongs to the government and their slow down their rivals servers on purpose. So if you are interested in surfing non-Chinese websites go with Telecom . As for sharing your internet connection for ADSL (="password protected") - get a router - it's about 150 kuai, can act as a firewall as well. You are mistaken
