China Inflation up 6.7% YOY in August 2007

Inflation Set to Have Banner Year in China for 2007

From today’s Wall Street Journal:

… a 6.5% surge in the consumer-price index in August — underscored how China remains focused on managing fast growth rather than weathering a slowdown

Of course, most of the increase in inflation is due to still high pork and other meat prices. Also from the same article:

[China] meat prices rose 49% over a year earlier
