I agree with this, and was wondering if anyone else constantly feels guilty about not being required to stay at school all day like the other English teachers? I teach 15 classes a week, and basically just sit in my office for 30 mins or so each day so I don't look lazy.

Jesse,

I would definitely agree that they 'work' a lot, however in terms of total classroom hours the number is still quite low. The system is anything but efficient.

Even with night classes and weekend classes they have the same 6-10 classes, the only difference being they have to be at school ALL the time. But why?

i agree that they are underworked in terms of classroom hours. but when you consider weekend classes, meetings, night classes, etc, i think it all adds up.
