Is China Milk Safe?

Melamine has been found in all of the major Chinese milk brands, not just in Sanlu baby milk powder where this crises started.

The question becomes:  Which Chinese milk brand is safest?

The answer might be none for now.

But after a suitable period of time has passed, I’d go with the biggest milk makers, as they have the most to lose by not fixing this problem immediately.

Mengniu is perhaps the most tasty, and the price is quite reasonable.  Per current inspections, it seems to be least cupable in this scandal.

So… are you still drinking milk?

No milk. But maybe milk chocolate?

  2. 2|Jeremy says:

@Fauna - Just wait for the giant milk chocolate scandal…

Just read that for adults and older children small quantities of milk (less than 2 liters a day) are safe, due to the ability of our bodies to process small amounts of melamine. But I wouldn’t push the upper limits.

    Breast milk?

  4. 4|Kiss of X says:

Question is can you spot the dairy? How about the latte at Starbuck’s, made with milk from Nanjing? How about the mayo in the tuna sandwich? The pizza cheese?

My question is, what is going on right now that we haven’t discovered???

  5. 5|Jeremy says:

Hey Kiss of X - I wouldn’t be too worried about all of it, they said adults can drink up to 8 liters a day of the tainted stuff without getting really affected.
