Online Advertising in China

Isn’t it obvious that the Chinese online advertising market is exploding, along with the general advertising market in China? In the future I hope to get an article out to you about the advertising market in China overall, but for now a few statistics about the online side of things should do the trick:

Online advertising in China growing fast

China’s online advertising is growing at an incredible rate. According to an online study by Nielsen, from May 1st of this year until July 31st, advertisers in mainland China invested US$190 Million into online advertisements. This is about the same that was spent on magazine advertising in China for the same time period. The biggest online advertisers in China come from the automotive, consumer electronics, and consumer products industries. The banking industry ranks rather low in its online advertising expenditures in China, even though they are the leading industry in expenditures in other advertising outlets.
