Why do YOU Love China?

You Love China

Do you think China has been getting a bit too much bad press lately? Maybe it’s time to tell everyone why you love China.

Whether or not China deserves all of the negative reports, it could be good to look at the bright side of things once more. So I need your help with a simple cause: Tell the world, your fellow China bloggers, or at least Grandma why you love China (depending on how many people read your blog).

Group Project: Why You Love China

It doesn’t matter what exactly you love about China. Just carefully think about the question, write out your best answers, and tell me when you’re done and where the post is at so I can link to you in the wrap up post (and it would be great if you throw a link this way to let others know about this project). Feel free to download and use the image above in your post. Here’s some ideas for what you can write, if you’re not sure:

Hopefully you can come up with something less lame, of course. Get to it.

What China Needs Now, Is Love, Sweet Love…

We all know China has massive problems, some of which may affect you in your daily life or those you care about. Just for a moment, though, forget about all of the problems, and focus on what is keeping you here and all the good things about China. But hurry up, someone needs a pick-me-up.

i am so proud i am born in china and being chinese. LOVE my country more then ever.

  2. 2|Mao says:

I love chinese culture, chinese food, chinese people (because they are so disciplined and hard-working), chinese martial arts, chinese traditional musical ballads, and while this may seem contradictory, I like China’s political communist Maoist ideology.

  3. 3|snappysammy says:

    It’s the people…..they are Great….

  4. 4|Vui says:

Yes, the chinese are a great people with an incredibly long and rich
culture and history. The most peaceable people on earth! Walk tall!

  5. 5|Oscillator says:

I really enjoy getting to know Chinese people. Overall people are pretty open and have a good sense of humor. I’ve also found people that I know to be very polite and gracious. I’ve even had people I hardly know invite me to attend their family holiday gatherings.

I like that family is so important in China. People really try to take care of their children and family elders. It’s less selfish than many western societies in this regard.

One thing I was surprised to find and which I also really love is how culturally diverse China is. There’s not really such a thing as “Chinese culture” or “Chinese language”. “China” and being “Chinese” is so many things.

I also love the Chinese culinary tradition. Truthfully, there’s a lot of Chinese food I hate, but even the dishes I don’t like I usually have to respect for their adventurousness and ingenuity. Seriously, is there anything the Chinese can’t make with a soybean? Furthermore, is there anything the Chinese can’t turn into a dish somehow? I’m often impressed by this.

I also really love the Chinese emphasis on perfection, especially in the arts. I’m constantly amazed by how hard working people are, and how accomplished even “amateurs” can be at music and painting for example. It’s this methodical and dogged dedication to pursuits which leads to a certain kind of mastery that is lost to notions of individual expression in western societies.
